Cucumber Facial Cold Cream Recipe
You will need:1 ounce white beeswax
7 tablespoons light mineral oil
1 1/2 teaspoons borax
2 tablespoons rose water
2 tablespoons fresh cucumber juice (see Special Recipes)
Make cucumber juice beforehand. Grate wax and heat it with oil in a double boiler until well blended. At the same time, dissolve borax in rose water and heat to near boiling. Remove both pots from heat at the same time, and while stirring constantly, add water solution slowly to blended oil and wax. When combined, beat vigorously until cool. Add cucumber juice. Beat and put into jars.
Cooking creams is probably one of the easiest things in the world to do, but if you like things perfectly clear do this: buy 2 inexpensive candy thermometers; put one in the double boiler with the wax-oil part of a cream; put the other in the pan containing the water. When both thermometers reach 160 degrees, remove from the heat and proceed as directed.
