Corn Oat Facial Scrub Recipe
1/2 cup oat flour
1/2 cup corn flour
1/3 cup whole milk powder
1/2 cup corn meal
Grind milk powder in a mortar and pestle to get the lumps out. Sift the dry ingredients together. Mix with water to get a thick paste. Smooth on, let set on face for 10 to 15 minutes. Scrub off with washcloth dipped in warm water.
To make the mixture astringent use Witch Hazel. To make it soothing, add aloe gel. To make it less drying for aging or very dry skin, add a few drops of almond oil and mix before adding final water. Use extra fine corn meal for face scrubs and coarser grinds for body scrubs. Do NOT premix as it will not keep for long once the dry ingredients are mixed with the wet.
