Why is it that no matter what color bubble bath you use the bubbles are always white?

Basic Body Wash Recipe

  • 1 cup distilled water
  • 1 Tsp citric acid
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • 1 1/2 cup liquid castile soap
  • 1 tsp guar gum

Boil water in a kettle or heat in microwave.

In a bowl whisk your oil, honey, boiling water, and citric acid together.

Sprinkle in the guar gum, whisking to combine, and then immediately afterward whisk in the castile soap (if you wait too long the guar gum will thicken and you’ll have clumps) until blended and smooth.

Store the mixture in a bottle that you have sterilized (opaque is best) out of direct sunlight and shake before each use.

NOTES: The citric acid is used to prevent bacterial growth. The olive oil can be swapped out with coconut oil, grapeseed oil, jojoba oil, or any other oil. The guar gum is used as a thickener, binder, and volume enhancer. You can find the guar gum in most stores that carry natural foods.

Bath and Body Tip #3

As well as soft fluffy towels, having PJs, slippers or a warm robe ready for when you hop out the bath saves you the trouble of trying to find clothes just when you're relaxed.
