Touch is one of the oldest forms of medical treatment known to man. The power of touch is crucial to us as humans. We are all sensual beings and as a result we respond well to massage and human contact. Massage in its most basic form has been around as long as man.
Massage oils have been used throughout history. We have an instinctive reaction to rub or hold the affected area to ease pain. The purpose of using massage oil is to facilitate the gliding of hands over the skin. Massage oils contain ingredients for nourishing the skin and promoting health. Essential oils can be added to further enhance the massage oil.
Massage oils in large quantities should be kept refigerated or in a cool place (65 degrees or cooler) when not in use to delay spoilage. Adding Vitamin E to your massage oil each month will help prevent spoilage. We recommend using about 300 IU of Vitamin E per pint of massage oil.
